Kresimir Simunovic: NightLase - A Blessing and a Challenge for the Patient and the Office Team

We present how to manage a variety of patient types and different, type-tailored protocols, in order to enhance the patient’s quality of life and lifestyle. It can be both a blessing and a challenge for the patient and the office team.

After 5 years of clinical experience, with enhanced treatment protocols performed in recent years, we will outline the challenges for the clinical team to achieve a blessing for both partners, the patient and dentist, with an increased pool of very different people, ranging from simple, evident snoring to more complex cases of apnea and hypopnea, which of course require an interactive professional medical teamwork.

A precise and complete interview with both partners, the snoring one and the “listening” one, as well as clear info about the protocols, the timeline, the need of lifestyle improvement, and the limits and possible outcomes are necessary to achieve the individual best possible result from the NightLase treatment.

Selection criteria are questioned and their impact on the therapy is analyzed. Two different NightLase protocols are implemented in our office: together and/or separate. A first intermediate statistic will show which pathways were at the moment more successful than others.

Blessing or challenge: the question is still alive …
